- According to "Introducing The C= Commodore AMIGA 3000", Schematics F-15,
- the diode is symbol D800, a 1N914 diode. I have read that it is near
- the external SCSI connector.
-
- The diode's function is to allow the Amiga to provide termination power
- to external SCSI devices, while preventing the A3000 from TAKING power
- from the termination power line of an external device under any
- circumstances. (Particularly when the external device is powered up
- and the Amiga is not.)
-
- To check that the diode is installed corectly in your A3000, use a
- break-out box and check that +5 volts becomes available on pin 25 of
- the external SCSI connector when the A3000 is powered up. Use pin 7, 9,
- 14, 16, 18, or 24 as the common for this measurement.
